The Red Sea Film Foundation hosts the first Bloomberg Screentime Summit
The Red Sea Film Foundation has partnered with leading news outlet Bloomberg to support its prestigious live media event ‘Bloomberg Screentime’ – a two-day summit covering the intersection of Hollywood and Silicone Valley with Bloomberg’s award-winning journalists gathering moguls, celebrities, and entrepreneurs already defining the next phase of pop culture.
Bloomberg Screentime is hosting defining figures of popular culture – including Issa Rae, Padma Lakshmi, Ted Sarandos, Maria Sharapova and Bill Simmons – in conversation, which is presented both in person at the Nya Studios, Los Angeles, and streamed live. During the event, which started on the 11th of October, the discussions and debate will be on the future of cinema, the boom in streaming audio and video, the latest sports and gaming experiences, the potential impact of artificial intelligence and other topics at the forefront of industry leaders’ minds.
The Red Sea Film Foundation is hosting the event with Bloomberg Live Experiences and will participate in two on stage sessions today highlighting the changing role of cinema and film production in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and the significance of the Foundation’s work to support filmmakers from the region. Jumana Al Rashid, Chairwoman, and Mohammed Al Turki, CEO, at the Red Sea Film Foundation, along with Shivani Pandya Malhotra, MD of the Red Sea Film Foundation, will be speaking alongside other media and tech leaders throughout the event. The diverse array of guest speakers features those at the helm of Netflix, NBCUniversal, YouTube, AEG, Minecraft and the Sundance Institute, alongside contemporary creators of documentary film, media analysts, musicians and TikTok content.
Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, said: “It’s inspiring to be in the company of creators and business moguls who are collectively creating the media industry as we know it. We’re excited to trade insights and experiences with Bloomberg’s guests and share the work we’re doing through the Red Sea Foundation with this audience.”
Bloomberg Screentime is the dedicated digital content hub from Bloomberg, which focuses on the global entertainment industry, exploring how the rise of streaming technology and peer-to-peer social networks in the U.S., Asia, and Europe are disrupting the business of entertainment around the world. Leveraging the world’s largest global newsroom and over one billion data-points processed daily, Bloomberg Screentime addresses the intersection of business and culture.
The inaugural #BloombergScreentime event is presented by the Red Sea Film Foundation and by @BMWUSA
